Let into the floor of the Vernon Chantry is a particularly fine brass depicting Sir Arthur Vernon in the robes of a Cambridge Master of Arts. Above his head is a chalice with a Priest’s Host with rayed edge inscribed in the centre ‘IHS’.
Sir Arthur Vernon 1482-1517, rector of Whitchurch, Salop fifth son of Sir Henry Vernon, is also commemorated by a bust on the west wall.
